Why Does My Wix Website Look Different on Mobile?

The reason the phone version drifts, and how to bring it back into line.

Last checked August 2026. Wix changes its interface often — if something looks different, the underlying steps usually still apply.

In the standard Wix Editor, mobile is a separate layout generated from your desktop design. Wix guesses how to stack everything, and its guesses are not always good.

  • New desktop elements are auto-placed on mobile and often land badly.
  • Text sizes carry over and are usually far too large.
  • Elements you positioned by hand on desktop stack in a surprising order.

Step 1: Open the mobile view

Click the phone icon in the editor toolbar.

Step 2: Fix it section by section

Resize headings, hide decorative items and close the gaps.

Step 3: Republish

Mobile fixes only appear to visitors after publishing.

Tip: Get into the habit of checking the mobile view every time you change the desktop site. It takes a minute and prevents most of these problems.
