How to Create an Email Address for a Wix Website

An address at your own domain looks considerably more credible than a free webmail address. Wix does not host mailboxes itself — it connects you to a mail provider.

Step 1: Connect your domain first

Business email requires the domain to be attached to your Wix site.

Step 2: Open the email settings

In your site dashboard go to Settings, then Business Email.

Step 3: Choose a provider and mailbox

Pick the plan you need and create the address, for example hello@yourbusiness.com.

Step 4: Let the mail records be added

The provider adds MX records to your domain. Do not delete these later.

Step 5: Send a test both ways

Send an email out and get someone to reply. Both directions need to work.

Careful: If you already have email on this domain elsewhere, do not add a second set of MX records. Two mail providers on one domain will lose messages.
