Last checked August 2026. Wix changes its interface often — if something looks different, the underlying steps usually still apply.
Google Analytics tells you how many people visit your website, which pages they read and where they came from. Wix has a built-in place to add it, so you do not need to touch any code.
Step 1: Create a Google Analytics property
Go to Google Analytics, create an account if you do not have one, and create a GA4 property for your website.
Step 2: Copy your Measurement ID
In the data stream for your website, copy the Measurement ID. It looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX.
Step 3: Open your Wix site dashboard
Select the site in your Wix account and open the dashboard, not the editor.
Step 4: Go to Marketing Integrations
In the left menu open Marketing & SEO, then Marketing Integrations. You will see a tile for Google Analytics.
Step 5: Connect and paste the ID
Click Connect on the Google Analytics tile and paste your Measurement ID. Save.
Step 6: Check it is receiving data
Open your live website in another tab, then look at the Realtime report in Google Analytics. You should appear within a minute or two.
Common questions
- Do I need Google Tag Manager as well?
- No. For a straightforward Wix site the direct Google Analytics connection is enough. Tag Manager is useful once you are running several tracking tools.
- Why is Google Analytics showing no data?
- Usually the site is not published, the Measurement ID has a typo, or your own visit is being blocked by an ad blocker.
