How to Add a Contact Form in Wix

Add an enquiry form and make sure the messages actually reach your inbox.

Last checked August 2026. Wix changes its interface often — if something looks different, the underlying steps usually still apply.

A contact form is usually the single most valuable element on a small business website. Adding one takes a few minutes. Making sure you actually receive the enquiries takes a few minutes more, and that second part is the bit people skip.

Step 1: Open the Add panel

In the editor, click the plus button in the left toolbar to open the Add Elements panel.

Step 2: Choose Contact & Forms

Select the forms category and pick a layout. A short form with name, email and message will always outperform a long one.

Step 3: Drag the form onto your page

Place it where a visitor would look for it — usually near the bottom of the homepage and on a dedicated contact page.

Step 4: Edit the fields

Click the form, then open its settings to add, remove or rename fields. Mark only the fields you genuinely need as required.

Step 5: Set where submissions are sent

In the form settings, open the notification or submission settings and enter the email address that should receive enquiries. Do not leave this on the account default if that inbox is never checked.

Step 6: Set the message the visitor sees

Choose whether the form shows a thank-you message or sends visitors to a thank-you page. A dedicated page is better, because you can track it.

Step 7: Publish and send yourself a test

Publish the site, fill the form in yourself, and confirm the email arrives. Check the spam folder before assuming it is broken.

Tip: Add the submission to your calendar as a monthly check. Forms fail quietly — usually months before anyone notices the enquiries stopped.

Common questions

Where do Wix form submissions go?
They are stored in your site dashboard under Inbox or Form Submissions, and emailed to whichever address you set in the form notification settings.
Why am I not receiving form emails?
Most often the notification email address is wrong, or the messages are landing in spam. Check both before changing anything else.
